Capture 2025 Selected Exhibitions Program Submission Terms & Conditions

By making a submission to the Capture Photography Festival, you certify that you are the sole creator and owner of the artwork(s) submitted or have been granted permission by the artist to submit and exhibit his or her work. Additionally, you are authorizing Capture Photography Festival to use the image(s) for activities related to the Festival, and the promotion thereof. Capture Photography Festival assumes no ownership rights of the images submitted. Any reproduction of the image(s) for promotional purposes will be fully credited to the artist.

*Please ensure your submission has substantive lens-based content or it will not qualify for the Festival.

Each submission must comply with the following requirements:

1. Final images must be submitted in digital format. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. 

2. Final images of completed work must be submitted in .jpg format at minimum 300 dpi and 10” wide or in pixels a minimum of 1920 px to a maximum of 4800 px. Five to seven images can be uploaded to the submission with a single pdf of corresponding image credits. Image credits must include the following information: Artist, Artwork Title, Year(s), Dimensions in cm, Medium. Courtesy of the Artist and… The image need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, photographic prints, and digital renderings are acceptable.

3. Photographs or lens-based artworks that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud. You must be prepared to provide a release form as described below in “Release.” When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up of another person’s art.

4. The photograph or lens-based artwork, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the applicant or artist representative. By submitting to the Festival, the entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photograph or lens-based artwork is an original work created solely by the entrant or representative, that the photograph or lens-based artwork does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph or lens-based artwork.

5. The photograph or lens-based artwork must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Festival organizer, contain objectionable or inappropriate content. Capture Photography Festival is an open forum for the promotion and discussion of photography and lens-based art.

Capture Photography Festival is not responsible for the specific content or subject matter of any work displayed or advertised. Some exhibitions or materials may be offensive, upsetting, or disturbing to some members of the public.

Releases

If the photograph or lens-based artwork contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or that are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any people appear in the photograph or lens-based artwork, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph or lens-based artwork, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition of the photograph or lens-based artwork. If any person appearing in any photograph or lens-based artwork is under the age of majority in their country of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.

Upon request, each entrant must be prepared to provide a signed release from all people who appear in the photograph or lens-based artwork submitted and/or from the owner of any material that appears in the photograph entry.
